How to choose the right camera surveillance

The number of cameras depends on how many entrances, exits and blind spots the property has. Plan for at least one camera per entrance and one overview camera for the driveway or garden. A house usually needs 4–6 cameras, while businesses with several premises may need a 16-channel NVR to manage all feeds centrally.

Choose resolution by purpose: 4K gives sharp detail for identification (for example number plates), while 2–5 MP is enough for general surveillance. PoE cameras are recommended for fixed installations because they simplify cabling and run more reliably than WiFi.
