Faraday Bags and Faraday Protection

Protect your phone, laptop, and sensitive data with certified Faraday products. Our range of Faraday bags and Faraday cases blocks cellular signal, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, RFID and NFC — ideal if you want to prevent tracking, eavesdropping, and unauthorized access to your devices.

What is a Faraday bag?

A Faraday bag (or Faraday case) is made from signal-blocking material that creates a Faraday cage around your device. Once your phone or laptop is placed inside, all wireless communication is cut off — no signals in or out, and the device is completely off-grid until you take it out again.

What do our Faraday products block?

  • Cellular signal (2G/3G/4G/5G)
  • WiFi and Bluetooth
  • GPS tracking
  • RFID and NFC (card, passport, and key fob protection)
  • EMP and EMF radiation

Protect your car keys against relay theft

Many new keyless-entry cars can be stolen through so-called relay theft, where thieves amplify and relay the signal from your key fob to unlock and start the car — even while the key is inside your home. The same signal-blocking material that shuts out cellular signals and RFID also blocks the radio signal your key fob transmits, so it can’t be read or amplified from outside. Store your key fob in a Faraday case when the car isn’t in use for simple, passive protection.

Frequently Asked Questions About Faraday Protection

Does a Faraday bag actually work? Yes, our Faraday products are tested and block signals with 100 dB+ attenuation, equivalent to a signal reduction of over 100,000:1.

Can I still receive calls while my phone is in the bag? No — that’s the whole point. The phone is completely cut off from the network until it’s removed from the bag.

Isn’t it enough to just turn off the phone? No. Modern phones can rarely be fully powered down since the battery is usually non-removable, and the phone can still communicate with the network in standby mode. A Faraday bag creates a physical barrier instead of relying on software, giving guaranteed, verifiable protection.

Does a Faraday bag drain the phone’s battery? Quite the opposite. Without coverage, most phones enter a sleep-like state and stop actively searching for a signal, which often saves battery compared to normal use.

Will the alarm clock still work if the phone is in the bag? Yes. The clock and timer on your phone are local functions that don’t require a network connection, so alarms and the clock work as usual.

Will I get through airport security with the bag? Yes. The material is textile and scans like any other luggage in the x-ray — no metal parts to draw extra attention.

Can I use aluminum foil instead of a Faraday bag? Foil provides very uneven and unreliable protection in practice, unlike a certified Faraday material that’s tested for consistent attenuation across the entire device.

Is it legal to use a Faraday bag? Yes. A Faraday bag is passive shielding — it doesn’t emit any jamming signals and doesn’t affect other devices nearby, unlike a signal jammer.

What happens to missed calls and messages? They reach you as soon as the phone is taken out of the bag and regains coverage — just like after airplane mode or being in an area without coverage.
